Sacred Bible Commentary is an AI-powered study tool that generates verse-by-verse Catholic biblical commentary drawn from the Church Fathers, Doctors of the Church, and the richest tradition of Catholic exegesis.
Our Mission
We believe every Catholic should have access to the wisdom of the Church Fathers and the great Catholic commentators. Our mission is to make 2,000 years of Catholic biblical scholarship instantly accessible to students, catechists, seminarians, priests, and anyone who wants to go deeper into Sacred Scripture.
Using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), we search a curated vector database of Catholic source texts — including the Catena Aurea, Haydock Commentary, Cornelius a Lapide, and the writings of the Church Fathers — then present AI-generated commentary grounded in real scholarship, not hallucination.
Terms of Service
By using Sacred Bible Commentary ("the service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Account & Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
Acceptable Use: The service is provided for personal study, educational, and pastoral use. You may not use the service to generate content that misrepresents Catholic teaching, or use automated scripts to abuse the API.
AI-Generated Content: Commentaries are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors. The service is a study aid, not a substitute for the Magisterium, Sacred Tradition, or the guidance of your pastor. We make no warranty regarding the theological accuracy of any generated content.
Subscriptions: Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard; access continues through the end of your current billing period.
Modifications: We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect: We collect your email address when you create an account, and payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store your card details). We also store your commentary history and saved summaries to provide the service.
How We Use Your Data: Your data is used solely to provide and improve the service. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services: We use Supabase for authentication and database hosting, Stripe for payment processing, Anthropic (Claude AI) for commentary generation, and Vercel for hosting. Each operates under their own privacy policies.
Data Retention: Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
Cookies: We use essential cookies for authentication. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Refund Policy
All paid subscriptions are billed on a month-to-month basis with no long-term commitment.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. Upon cancellation, your paid features remain active through the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free tier.
Refunds: Because you can try the service for free before subscribing and cancel at any time, we generally do not offer refunds. However, if you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the service, please contact us and we will work with you to resolve the issue or provide a refund at our discretion.
